This road is curvy and narrow in some places but goes right by the Skybridge over Gatlinburg and ends up at Ripley’s Aquarium. Take the same route to Campbell Lead Road I mentioned above, but at the stop sign in the middle of nowhere, keep going straight (or if you are coming from the bypass, make a right). Hidden Entrance To The AquariumĬampbell Lead Road is not only a little-known entrance to the bypass but an even less-known way to the middle of Gatlinburg from the bypass or the chalets on the mountain west of town. I HAVE loved this app for quite a while, but the depression I am experiencing being very late to work the past 7 days isn’t worth it and driving me back to google maps. My 18 min trip this morning took 45!! I’d like to list all the incomprehensible routes it has done to me over the past 9 days (that’s when it started acting up like this) but I probably won’t have enough characters in this review. In the past several days it has taken that little quirk to a whole new level, taking me km’s (miles) out of my way to go simple routes, even just basically forward, often doubling, yes doubling! my trip time. One thing that has happened a few times is instead of turning right at an intersection it takes you left to do a u-turn to get back on the road you were going. It has great GPS when it can connect including speed with alerts, and speed detector/red light camera warnings, along with community warnings of potential hazards from pot holes to police. I have loved this app for quite a while and don’t mind the occasional quirk. Learn more about the Waze privacy policy here, Waze directions are not intended for emergency or oversized vehicles. So if you don’t need a mobile app experience based on Mac’s mail application, feel free to skip over that section where we discuss which apps have those options. As an example, one of the criteria we look at is operating system support – meaning that it has mobile app options to continue with the experience when you’re away from your Mac. Some of these criteria might not be important to you, so keep that in mind as you keep on reading. Here are the features/criteria that we used when ranking the top ten Mac email apps. ![]() Must-Have Features for the Best Email Client for MacĮven though email is a very old technology, it’s added some new bells and whistles over the years thanks to innovative developers and email service providers. They’re built on the same open protocols that traditional email applications have used, but they overlay exciting features that meet the needs of today’s demanding environments. In order to meet the demanding needs of users today, a new breed of email applications has been created. Those apps were built for a world when you took a few days to respond to emails – not a few hours or even a few minutes. They were certainly built before the world moved into hybrid work models. The original Apple Mail and Outlook apps were built before the rise of mobility. The core technology unpinning email has remained the same (IMAP, SMTP, etc), but the way we use email has certainly changed. Some knowledge workers might have started on Outlook 97 and have stuck with it until today. What’s Wrong With Using Apple Mail or Outlook?Īpple Mail and Outlook have been the default email apps for many people for 20+ years. We’ve done all the research, tried all the options, and are ready to tell you the good, the bad, and the unique features of the best Mac email apps available to use with Google Workspace, Gmail, Microsoft 365, Yahoo, AOL, iCloud, and other popular email services. When you’re ready to transition away from the basic mail client for Apple, we’ve rounded up the top ten email clients for the Mac. No one is left out with email because people using a mail client on MacBooks can communicate with people using an email client on Android or a PC. ![]() ![]() If your friends and family use iMessage to chat, but you’re on Android – you’re left out. Try doing that with WhatsApp, iMessage, or Facebook Messenger. It doesn’t matter if you use iPhone, Android, Desktop, Mac, PC, or even Linux – email works on all of them, and it’s possible to communicate with anyone on any other platform. In a world currently controlled by a handful of “big tech” companies, email is the last open platform that anyone can be involved in. Email is one of the best (and most popular) technologies to communicate for business and personal purposes because it’s open to everyone and isn’t reliant on any single technology company. ![]() And speaking of schools: They're a great option if you're looking for some of the best bookends for textbooks or binders. ![]() Still, even with these limitations, we're here for this set.ĭimensions: 7.8 x 4.8 x 6.7 inches | Materials: Metal | Weight: 0.53 pound (combined weight of both)īe warned, these sturdy, metal Office Depot bookends might give you nostalgia for your elementary school library. A modern day equivalent would be when Holly Holm defeated Ronda Rousey in UFC 193. Think about how hard and long he must have worked to get this accomplished. To this day there have been only three changes to the 1855 classifications and the other two were very minor. It was well fought for and well deserved (his wine was just as good as the other first growth wineries in France) and he celebrated. In 1973 he accomplished his lifetime time goal of achieving a first growth classification for his Chateau. Remember that the French wine laws are EXTREMELY strict. He fought tooth and nail and had to go through many layers of red tape to get this accomplished. He then dedicated the next 40 years of his life to elevate his Chateau from a second growth to a first growth classification. Back in that time there was only 4 first growth wineries. It is widely speculated that the second growth rating was due to the fact it was an Englishman that owned the estate. ![]() This winery was deemed a second growth winery by the 1855 classification (if you ain’t first you’re last). He inherited Chateau Mouton estate in 1922. Now for a history lesson about the great Baron Philippe de Rothschild. That’s right, they make only one wine! Well… they do make a second one that is a non vintage blend with wine that is leftover from previous years that is a 1/3 of the price, called Overture. This winery is the brainchild of Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild to make a single Bordeaux style wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec) in Napa California. Not only am I still playing these songs, but I am still learning them. ![]() Playing music is a lifelong pursuit and I am still playing the same songs that I played when starting out, Twinkle, Oh Susanna, When the Saints Go Marching In, and other folks songs. With much of our lives focused on instant feedback, whether it is getting instagram likes, taking a test at school, playing a video game, there are fewer and fewer meaningful long term goals that we have to work towards. I don’t like to quantify practice sessions, but playing your instrument several times a week is a good goal! I encourage you (and your children) to establish a practice routine with the new school year that is realistic and works well with your schedule. Not that practicing is akin to homework, but he does mention that there are days that the homework is a bit harder and days when it is easier. He describes how he has been playing the Bach Cello Suites since day one (his first lesson when he was 4 years old). I recently listened to an interview with Yo Yo Ma on NPR about the value of incremental practice. This time of year, students and parents are working on getting into a new groove and establishing a practice routine. Scheduling performances give you a concrete timeline and goal to work towards. This is also a great platform to test out new material that you have been working on. With each performance, our hope is that students become more comfortable playing music in front of an audience. Other informal performance opportunities could include playing for your friends and family, at an open mic, in a song circle, at a campground of a music festival or for your significant other. This is what we like to call an “informal” performance opportunity, (performances that don’t include a big stage and a big audience). Registration is limited to 30 students and you can sign up in our student portal.
